The College Program Orientation

I just got back home after joining the college program orientation in Disney Hotel at the 2nd floor of the goofy ballroom.
It started at 5:30 pm and ended at 7:30 PM. The program was really great and i felt better after going there.

First of all, I walked in the room with uncomfortable feeling because there were 200 people, White, Asain, Korean, Chinese, and hispanish. I guess I might not know anyone because they all came from different places.
Some came from UC san deigo, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Cal state Fullerton, Cal State pomona, Cypress college, OCC, Santa Ana college, Cerritos College! and Guess What! nobody came from Long beach City college.. all these school, they have Disney college program representative... Why LBCC doesn't ?

Well, when they asked me I saw I m from Cerritos! of course I took one class over there. Lolz.

The great thing about this meeting tonight I like when all the Alumni and Director and Team manager came up to the stage and shared the experience How they become,...and where did they start??

Guess what they join the college internship last 2 years..

What did they start! the Attraction and Jungle Boy! rain the boat and train.

I guess we will laugh that! they are major in Hotel management and one is Business Administration ,, why they did that??

Gary, he said! he applied this program and he was getting his degree in BA,, Hotel management! he was expecting that there would be position in hotel and resturant at Disney where he could start his first entry level.


He said! the funny part was?? he got the letter like I got too... He opened and guessed what position he got!//

The Jungle Boy! was that position relate to anything he learn? and his major!

I will laugh my ass off! lolz well, then he got in to the program!
he started to network with people...from taking course marketing You,, PDS (professional Development Study) Leadearship speaker,,

He knew alot of people who are higher level in disney.

Then,, he started to ask and tried to target his position to what his major..

Now, he got a nice damn suit that he wore tonight! i guess I thought the BMW key in his pocket lolz..

Well, I like when he said!

We never know What we would be...so learn to work from the low to high! we never stop dreaming...Disney Land is where the dream comes true.. and They will support all the student here to reach the goal..

lolz.. yes right!

He said! 200 of us tonight! will make it better...

There were 564 Application this year.. and They were selected only 200! people. that came in this room tonight!

So,, I felt proud that I am one in the 200 lolz..

Sometime,, i felt like if i told people that I work at Disney! what come in mind?

They will say! am I working with Mickey Mouse! lolz..

well.. i will spend time 1 year in my shoes! and when I get enough and get my degree!

I will have a huge brand name in my Resume..but I will seek more position at Disney! u never knOw!

:D so,, felt much better with this job,..like they said! it will be exciting?

Oh yes... next month! after MY birthday! Disney will a party at campus..so,, they will teach us how to dance like High school musical 3 lolz...

And hope Jonas Brother dont come lolz.. Jk

WEll, I met one girl! who is Cambodia,, but she grew up in USA, first Question that she asked me... when she introduced herself!

She asked me Am i cambodian? cause my name sound like one..

She asked me Is cambodia right now! is really poor! and not safe!

I was WOW! i said I have been here 5 years.. and i went there one time... Cambodia is really safe and develop ,..

I bet her to go and visit! or I will go with her lolz.... Jk :D

well, she seems to be knowing nothing..cause her parents might be Thai...cause she doesn't sound right To cAmbodia...

But well she said she Cambodian so I accept that..

however,I won see her..cause she works at the Hotel and I m in store..

At lease 2 Cambodians :D.

well, seem like all i wanna share..today...

Good Start, Disappoint at the End

Let me share you guy what I have done today, and I guess that I have two things to share today. First Good news and the bad News! So i think that if i tell you guy what is the bad news first, it will ruin everything and the mood.

Alright! there are a lot of things i want to say today, and if it is too long to read, please come back again next time.

I got up at 6 am today because I had to pick up Cody, My boss's son at donut store, to go to school at 7:15AM. I promised to help her until Summer by taking her kid to school every morning. I dropped Cody at school at 7:45 Am, and then I rushed to go to LBCC to work. Today is my first day at the LAC campus and I do not want to be late.
I start to work at 8 AM at the Small TV trailer, ITDC ( Information Technology Development Center) I think! lolz or I forget lolz..

I arrived at 8 am sharp after walking from the parking lot at the Stadium.
I was waiting outside of the building for 10 min, and it was damn cold this morning.

Suddenly, Mrs. Leislie Who interviewed last week is the Mac Freak Pro! ( I guess she doesn't use to Vista lolz) Also, she is the one who works with me and guide me to be the tech-support. She is okay, and nice but my big boss is Mrs. C.C she is PC pro! Windows.

I got in and they told me why i was so early. Then, I just told them i just arrived early 10 min. I didn't wanna be late on the first day.

First, they told me to start all the XP machine and Vista. But for the Mac Machine will turn on auto-start. that is Cool! :D

I felt abit not comfortable when I saw MAC Machines in the lab.

There are 4 Mac Machines, 4 XP machines and 2 Vista Machines.

It's really interesting to work over there, and there are three phone lines for help desk. So i have to prepare to answer all these three lines.

First, line is for Student distance learning, Second line is for LBCC Staff and Instructor, The Third line is VOIP phone.

They have the script and Website, guide for help. If any issues relate to Mac,, I will ask for help from Mrs. Lesilie, and if it is from PC Window, I will pass to Mrs. C.C

I will work at 8 am until 12 and lunch break, I have another class to catch is English 1 at 1 PM until 3 PM. Tuesday and thursday.

I got a lot of thing to do in the morning than other people who work in the afternoon because I am alone to respond to three phone lines, and maintain the lab for instructor who needs help.

Good experience for me but a lot of responsibility.

First troubleshooting for first day:

Fixing the firefox, and IE 7 issues. Remove Application and Virus.

Gotta boot in Safe mode in Vista and log in Admin account. Then remove Memory Virus, Service, and Fix the conflict between IE add-on and Firefox keep on crashing.

I solved it and Good job, I'm done in perfect time. then, Mrs. C.C came in. She touch me how to respond to the issues on Web database and Manage other Machines at PCC campus using Remote desktop.

So I can see what people do in the 8 machines at other Campus. I can see what on their screen.

A lot of thing to learn this morning. And perfect time to stop at 12. I walked out and Mrs. C.C asked me if i want to help her on Summer because they need people for Summer. I will be hired as Regular Staff. I said that would be great. so I need to learn to be multi-task and help desk first.

I'm happy to be in that place because i will use what I have learn. and improve my skill in Software.

I have to deal with instructor, Dean, and Student. So, Gotta learn to be polite :D

Walking to the Japanese Place to eat

It was 12:20 and I gotta finish my lunch before my English 1 class starts at 1 PM.
I walked alone and thought:---- I remembered last time I walked on the street! There were bun san, srey roth, Malina, Nary. So now where are they?? m Alone.. I gotta eat alone.

kind sad, but this is what I have to do and get use to it soon.

I finished my lunch and ran back so fast to the class because today i had to do easy in Class.

I didn't have time to sit and took a break. I gotta hurry to the class.

I arrived and got in the class. I started to feel tire and sleepy.

I forced to stay awake and listen to Dr. Chang's lecture.

My brain was full with all information that Mrs. C.C and Mrs. Lesilie told me.

I can't pay attention to his lecture.

Guess what! I fukced up in my first easy.

I should have listened to him carefully, but my brain needed a break..

I don't blame the working in the morning but I should manage time better. Next week I will get the food from home.. To save time and get some rest.

I dont really wanna talk about my easy.. The topic was "What Writing is meaning to You

I had a lot of idea and I started to struggle when i started to write.

i dont know! my brain was taking a break.

I never had any problem with the 1 hour easy in Class. I always finished early and on time.

This time.. I was the one who was in the class alone. and Dr. chang called me that I had 1 min..

I was depressed and sad after that.

I should have done better. but I knew that I fucked up with my 50 points so easy.. I should have avoided that mistake.

What have I done..

new laptop Gateway

On Sunday, I went to best buy and Fried Electronic Store, and bought Laptop.

It was $720, Dark red gateway laptop Serie MD78, Intel T6400 ( Duo 2 Cores) Centrino Chip, 4 GB of RAM, and 500 GB of HDD.

I was short of money I wanna get Sony and HP but I had no choice. I had to take it.

I need it just for school.. I will buy new powerful desktop this summer for gaming and applications.

First I thought that I dont like this, but then I started to love it :D more and more.

Fall in love with it now :D My first baby girl laptop.. so cute. but just school only./.It can't run my fav-game .

Well, I will pay this money back to my mom because I used her money.

I really need it that why..

New Interesting Job tomorrow

Tomorrow at 10 am I have to go to Disney land resort for my job offered. I will decide what time I can work for them

I don't know much but I hope it will be exciting job like Help-desk support :D

Aaliya Tevy Chan

My last post was on Christmas time last year, and today I'm going to post a new post including my family's picture.
I don't know that I will have time to update my blog after the school starts. By the way, it might be my last post of this semester because I know that I am going to be busy with my school, my IT internship, and my disney internship program. I'm taking 15 units this semester in different schools, Long Beach City College, Cerritos College, and Disney College. Also, I have to at least 8 hours a week at Long Beach city college as IT internship, and 32 hours as store operation crew member at Disney land. Beside these working experience, I have to face with two classes that I take at LBCC and Cerritos college. First is my English 1 class at LBCC, and I have to do alot of work and self-study because I haven't taken any ESL classes after I finished ESL 34X in 2006. So, it has been almost 3 years and I know that I haven't written anything and I might forget a lot of thing. Second is my Economics 201B at Cerritos. I don't think it is a hard class but the teacher is trying to make it look hard; lab time, quiz, newspaper, research paper. Damn,! if i miss it I will lose point so easy. Whatever.

Anyway, these are my new task for New YEar 2009,, Earn college credit to transfer at the same time I can gain work experience from Two places. :D
